CrowdStrike Appoints AJ Shipley as Chief Product Officer to Lead Falcon Platform Innovation

AJ Shipley

Bengaluru: AJ Shipley has been appointed as the Chief Product Officer at CrowdStrike, with the cybersecurity company announcing that he will lead its global product organization.

AJ Shipley will accelerate innovation across the CrowdStrike Falcon® platform as the company advances its mission of stopping breaches and securing the world’s adoption of artificial intelligence (AI).

The appointment comes as organizations increasingly deploy AI technologies, making every AI agent, model, and agentic workflow a potential attack surface that requires protection.

According to CrowdStrike, enterprises now face two major security demands: leveraging AI to defend organizations through the agentic Security Operations Center (SOC) while simultaneously securing the AI systems that businesses rely upon.

Building on the architectural advantages that established the Falcon platform as a platform of record for endpoint, identity, cloud, and next-generation SIEM, AJ Shipley will focus on extending CrowdStrike’s leadership in securing the emerging agentic era.

“Our platform advantage is structural: the sensor network, the telemetry, and the closed-loop system of real-time intelligence and expert validation that no one else can match,” said George Kurtz, CEO and founder of CrowdStrike.

“AI executes on the endpoint, and as the pioneer of EDR, we are uniquely positioned to capture the greatest tailwind cybersecurity has ever seen: securing the AI enterprises deploy. AJ is one of the most accomplished builders in our industry, and he is the right leader to seize an opportunity this large.”

AJ Shipley brings more than two decades of experience in developing category-defining cybersecurity products. He joins CrowdStrike from Splunk Security, where he served as Chief Product Officer.

Before joining Splunk Security, AJ Shipley led product management for Cisco’s Threat Detection and Response portfolio, which included XDR, EDR, NDR, email security, and vulnerability management.

During his tenure, he built Cisco XDR from the ground up and drove the due diligence and investment thesis behind Cisco’s $28 billion acquisition of Splunk.

Earlier in his career, AJ Shipley held senior product leadership roles at Palo Alto Networks. Throughout his professional journey, he has built, scaled, and transformed security platforms, joining CrowdStrike during what the company describes as a defining inflection point in cybersecurity.

Commenting on his appointment, AJ Shipley said, “No company has done more to stop breaches and thwart the adversary than CrowdStrike. That is the opinion of every customer and partner I have spoken to or supported throughout my career.”

He added, “Now there is a bigger opportunity in front of us: securing how the world adopts AI. Falcon’s unified architecture is uniquely built to deliver the speed, scale, and simplicity organizations need to secure the agentic enterprise.”

With AJ Shipley leading product strategy, CrowdStrike aims to further strengthen the Falcon platform’s capabilities to help organizations protect endpoints, identities, cloud environments, and AI-driven workloads as enterprises accelerate AI adoption.
